It was a dark night, the wind whistled through the empty streets of the city. A figure stood out against the fifth-floor window of a dilapidated building. The shadow wore a white, expressionless mask that seemed to absorb every emotion. The hand clutched a letter, yellowed and worn by time. Behind that letter was a secret, a betrayal that would not go unpunished. The city below him stretched out like an endless carpet of shadows. No one would notice his absence. And no one would understand that their time was running out.
With one last look at the window, the man turned, disappearing into the shadows of the room. The moment of truth was approaching.
