The Last Secret

The Last Secret

Prologue

The sunset turned red as shadows stretched across the silent city streets. Somewhere, behind a half-open window, someone was dying. No one had heard anything—no scream, no suspicious noise. Only silence. A suffocating, unsettling silence that hid secrets and lies.

Commissioner Luca De Angelis stood at the crime scene with a distant look in his eyes. Something wasn’t right. Every detail seemed too perfect, too precise. A crime this meticulous wasn’t the work of an amateur. Someone was playing with them, someone who knew how to cover their tracks. But silence wasn’t eternal, and Luca knew that every shadow had its light.

“There’s nothing here,” said Inspector Mantovani, interrupting De Angelis’ thoughts. “Another dead end?”

De Angelis didn’t reply. He slowly walked away from the scene, his instincts telling him there was much more than met the eye. This was just the beginning of something terrible. And that night, the city, wrapped in silence, would soon know the echo of terror.
